Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on Japanese healing art. The word Shiatsu means "finger pressure" -
a treatment incorporating gentle manipulations, stretches and pressure exerted using fingers, thumbs
and palms to various points on the body. It is based on the same underlying philosophy and principles as acupuncture. The treatment will take around an hour.
Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and can help in a wide range of conditions – from specific injuries
to more general symptoms of poor health. Regular Shiatsu sessions help to prevent the build up of stress
in our daily lives and therefore, the potential for disease to manifest.
Common conditions which can be helped include:
- bladder control
- limb mobility
- pain relief
- muscle relaxation
- back and joint pain and stiffness
- headaches, migraines
- menstrual problems
- digestive problems
- asthma
- sports injuries
- depression and stress
- pregnancy and childbirth
It also provides many general health benefits such as easing tension, relaxing the mind and
improving circulation and posture.
